Jul 4, 2008 - Thanks for posting this Laurel and Hardy farewell. To me they were the funniest comedy duo that ever graced the silver screen. I laughed at their antics when I was a child and still do today. Their comedy is timeless. Also, thank you Hal Roach for teaming Laurel and Hardy together. It was an excellent decision.

Jul 13, 2008 - It was called Utopia in the UK but I think it was called Atoll K in the States. A truly awful film which is painful to watch. Some of the actors were foreign & were dubbed terribly. Such a shame 2 comic geniuses like Stan & Ollie end up like that.

Jul 14, 2008 - thanks for the info and your right about how much of a shame it was.Its just too hard to belive that ollie lost all that weight so fast.

Jul 15, 2008 - actually, i think the funniest laurel and hardy sketch was the one where they were married to each others sister and they were played by laurel and hardy, dressed in drag. absolutely hillarious with female laurel's squeaky voice ... and female hardy's lower dumb voice!

Jul 20, 2008 - Where's the video of the boys fixing a window in the carpentry mill? that's the funniest when they fall off the bench into another worker!

Jul 24, 2008 - Yeah the weight loss was so rapid that it contributed to Oliver's several strokes which inevitably led to his death at age 65 on August 7th 1957. Laurel however lived for an extra 8 years and died on Febrary 23rd 1965. He never appeared on screen afters Hardy's death. But did write sketches for fellow comedians. He even wrote his own epitaph. Which said. If anyone at my funeral has a long face, I'll never talk to them again.

Jul 24, 2008 - To answer 1stsmosh's question. I don't know. But the film that you are looking for is called Busy Bodies released in 1933. I'm sure if you had a proper search for it you will find it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Jul 27, 2008 - Ollie died in August 7 1957, when he sufferd two strokes which slipped him into a coma from which he never recovered. And Stan died 8 years later, February 23 1965, after suffering a hearth attack.May they Rest In Peace.

Jul 2, 2008 - A friend of mine traveled to the USA in the early sixties and went on a "Stars Homes" tour in Beverly Hills , at one point the tour guide told everyone to get off the bus and wave at this particular window in an apartment block, Stan Laurel appeared on the balcony and waved back, it really made his holiday. I believe he was in the Hollywood phone book up until his death, just anyone could ring him up. The films they made are timeless and will always be watched and laughed at.
